Breast Surgery
“When it comes to breast surgery, there is no cookie-cutter approach. It’s important to understand that a breast plastic surgery procedure is complex and requires a level of consideration.”
— Dr Jeremy Hunt M.B.B.S (Syd) F.R.A.C.S. | Member. ASPS, ASAPS, ISAPS – MED0001151603
What is Breast Surgery?
Breast Surgery comes in several different forms, and it can be used to achieve a variety of individual goals.
From increasing volume, decreasing volume, changing the shape of the breast, or reconstructing the breast altogether, our Plastic Surgeons are qualified and dedicated to providing you with the most appropriate treatment to help achieve your desired outcome through breast plastic surgery.
How Does Breast Surgery Work?
Here at Aesthetic Edge, there is no one approach to Breast Plastic Surgery.
Depending on your goals, you may opt for a Breast Augmentation Mammoplasty to increase the size of your breasts, a Breast Reduction Mammaplasty to decrease the size of your breasts, a Breast Lift Mastopexy or Breast Reconstruction to alter the shape of your breasts.
Each of these procedures will be conducted in a hospital setting under general anaesthetic, with a period of recovery thereafter.
“If you’re curious about the types of breast surgery procedures we offer, we can give you the information you need to make an informed decision.”

Why Patients Choose
Breast Surgery
Depending on your goals and desired outcomes, patients may choose to undergo breast surgery for several different reasons, including altering the shape and appearance of the breasts and addressing physical abnormalities that may be present.

FAQs
Here at Aesthetic Edge, we understand that many patients have no idea what type of breast surgery may be appropriate before they walk through our doors. That’s why we take the time to first understand your goals and expectations around breast surgery before presenting you with the procedures that we believe would be most suited to you. From there, the final decision is up to you.
Every surgery has its own element of risk, and breast surgery is no different. That’s why we take the time to thoroughly explain all your options to you, including the associated risks, to help you make the best decision for your needs. As Plastic Surgeons, we’ve also been extensively trained to identify and mitigate the risks of surgery before, during and after the procedure as much as possible.
Depending on the type of breast surgery you undergo, and the specific techniques used, you may potentially have difficulties breastfeeding in the future. Of course, our Plastic Surgeons will explain these risks to you before you decide to go ahead with your breast surgery so that you can make the best decision for your goals – now and for the future.
