The Costs of Plastic Surgery

When considering any kind of plastic surgery, it’s important to do your own due diligence and seek the services of a qualified plastic surgeon to perform your procedure.

While a plastic surgeon in Sydney may cost more upfront, this is far better than having to pay for a subsequent surgery to fix or reverse the results of a ‘bargain’ surgery procedure.

Look for the acronyms MBBS FRACS after your plastic surgeon’s name to be sure that they are a registered specialist plastic surgeon.

When speaking with your plastic surgeon, always ensure you ask what is included in the total fee, as well as whether there are payment or finance plans available.

Here at Aesthetic Edge, we give you a complete breakdown of your surgery fees to offer full transparency and keep you informed of all costs involved at every stage along the way. We can also steer you in the right direction to find surgery finance payment plans to make paying for your surgery more convenient for you.

Costs & Fees

A consultation with one of our plastic surgeons lasts about 30 minutes and costs $400+GST. You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of around $70.

Each patient and procedure is different, meaning we cannot provide an exact cost based on complexity and duration until after your initial consultation. However, our team can provide you with an approximate figure for each procedure on request.
Medicare rebates may apply if you meet the strict criteria for certain medically necessary procedures. Your plastic surgeon will discuss this with you during your consultation.
If your procedure carries a Medicare item number and you have private health insurance, it may cover your hospital fees. You can discuss this further with your plastic surgeon during your consultation. We also recommend speaking to your Health Fund to find out if you have the right level of cover.
For surgical procedures that are deemed medically necessary, the ATO does allow you to access your superannuation to cover out-of-pocket expenses. Please discuss this with us.
The cost of cosmetic surgery will vary based on your needs and the complexity of the procedure, as well as other variable costs including surgeon fees, theatre fees and anaesthesia costs. Talk to your plastic surgeon for a full breakdown of your costs.
